needtobreathe videos

the last video (something beautiful) is my favorite, but they're all good. the lighting is bad in a few of them, but i posted them anyways so that you could listen to them even if you can't see them. hope you enjoy!

save the tatas

barbi & i did the race for the cure yesterday morning. it was an amazing experience. there were people everywhere. it was really cool to see so many people come together to support this cause. it rained the whole time we were there, but it wasn't raining too hard, so it wasn't bad. i did ditch my glasses pretty early on, though, because i got tired of wiping the water off. i figured i could just follow the huge pink crowd & i would be okay. i was surprised by how many people came to watch & cheer people on. i told barbi that after standing on a corner cheering at people running or walking by for like 40 minutes, i would probably lose my enthusiasm. but the people at the finish line were still just going nuts when i finally got there & they weren't showing any signs of letting up. it honestly made me feel bad because i walked the 5k & as i closed in on the finish line, everyone was yelling & cheering - saying, "you're almost there!!! keep it up!" & stuff like that. i told barbi that it made me feel guilty for not running the rest of the way. oh well. at least i didn't get passed by the 3 year old in her pink barbi jeep. ha!

the fountain had pink water!

me & barbi in front of the fountain
barbi raced in memory of tammy leslie (a good friend of a lot of our coworkers)

i raced in celebration of "miss pat" latham (rachel's daycare provider) & brenda tice (josh's grandmother)

i couldn't get enough of the pink water!

before the race: me, barbi, leana, & (i think) tiffany

after the race: us a little more tired & wet

needtobreathe concert

josh & i went to see needtobreathe play at workplay on 10/3. it was a really great show. i had not seen them live since 2001, and it was really amazing to see how much they've grown since then. they put on an amazing show. we had a blast & we got to see some friends that we haven't seen in a long time. it was a really good night. i'll post the videos if i can ever get them uploaded.

sips 'n strokes with the fam

i went to sips 'n stokes a couple of weeks ago with my mom & my sister. neither of them had ever been before. we had a great time! this was the first painting i had done where they told us to paint with our hands. i must say, even though it was my messiest experience at sns to date, it turned out to be one of my favorite paintings. it was a great idea for us to make it a mother/daughter night. hopefully we'll go back soon!

i think mom actually had fun!

not quite finished

taylor swift or bust!

THIS IS WHERE SHE CAME OUT AT THE END OF OUR ROW!

the next 4 are while she was on the small revolving stage at the bottom of our section.

back to the main stage

t swizzle

i love taylor swift. my wonderful husband managed to find us tickets to her sold out concert & surprised me with them for my birthday. the concert was last friday. we had a great time. josh may deny having fun so that he doesn't lose any man points, but he had almost as much fun as i did. our seats were in the top row of the lower section, and we were in the section directly across from the stage. and when i say the top row of the lower section, i mean the top row. as in the row that has spaces between each stadium seat for wheelchair-bound concert-goers. we felt kind of awkward about sitting there at first, but it didn't take long for us to decide that we couldn't have gotten better seats unless we had been literally touching the stage. we had TONS of room...the were like 4 stadium seats on the row & they had put a really comfy padded chair next to each stadium seat. and between each set of chairs there was just open space. so, no standing up to let the person down the aisle from you in & out every time they decide to go pee/buy a drink/get some popcorn! the longer we sat there, the more excited we were about our seats. then, after one of taylor's costume changes, we start hearing a commotion...then everyone around us started yelling. i was still trying to figure out what was going on when josh said, "oh my gosh! she's right there!!!" i turn my head to see taylor swift standing like 15 feet from me. she came out at the end of our stinkin' row!!!!!!! she played one whole song there, then walked down to a small revolving stage at the bottom of our section. pictures & videos to follow.

New Addition

We have gained a new addition to our family. Ty is 8 weeks old. He has been a part of our family for about a day & a half now, and he has already been the source of much excitment. Josh & I both have more than a few scars in the making, but we are completely in love with the little guy.
